REMEMBER: It is up to each individual diver to honestly evaluate their ability, proficiency and experience for a particular dive, as well as how he or she feels that particular day. Obtaining a certain level of certification is a starting point, a baseline, and not a substitute for experience and continued learning. Discussing your experience or a particular dive with other divers is good and helpful but in the end analysis every diver is solely responsible for their own safety and the decision to make any particular dive.
If you are interested in Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures classes, training and certification (i.e. tec diving certification), there are several dive shops on Long Island that have certified technical diving instructors, including Long Island Scuba and Hampton Dive Center. Tec diving students are welcome on any dive with their instructor. Please contact the Club about a discount for instructors with students.
The Sunday Dive Club is NOT a teaching or certifying organization. All links and references to Instructors and Dive Shops are provided for convenience only and have no legal or formal affiliation with The Sunday Dive Club. If you reserve spots on a dive for both you and an instructor, you must make all arrangements directly with the instructor. All instruction on any dive is completely independent of The Sunday Dive Club.
